Step 1: Determines your Career Goals and Constraints
Know what you want to do and why. Determine your interest, needs and the study programme you wish to pursue in Bulgaria. Choose the course that fits your personal, academic and financial needs.
Step 2: Research
Research about the course and higher education institutions in Bulgaria offering the course you want to pursue. Visit the official website of the Bulgarian institutions offering the course you wish to pursue. Know the language of instruction of the course, dates and deadlines, admission requirements and procedure, course structure, any electives, accommodation options,
cost of study and living, and other facilities offered.
Step 3: Apply
General Admission Prerequisites
Admission requirements vary from institution to institution, but the main admission requirements remain the same for all higher education institutions.
- For Undergraduate studies: A secondary education diploma is needed for entry into the undergraduate degree programme. The grades must not be below 62%.
- For Masters studies: A bachelor degree or its equivalent qualification is required for entry into the Masters programme. The average grade of the undergraduate degree must be 4 and above, or 72 % of the maximum possible score.
- For Doctorate/Ph.D. studies: A master degree or an equivalent qualification is needed for entry into the doctorate degree programme in Bulgaria. The average grade of the Master degree must be 4 and above.

Students who are admitted will receive an acceptance letter from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.
Step 4: Apply for Bulgarian Student Visa
International students after receiving the acceptance letter from the higher education institution in Bulgaria must apply for
visa at their nearest Bulgarian embassy/consulate.
Step 5: Apply for Student Loans
